Sony needs to learn a lesson from Nintendo

So on Tuesday Sony released an update to the PS3 which I was forced to download and install in order to continue using the PlayStation network. Now everything was going fine until it tried to install the update. It tries to install but fails at two percent and them tells me to reset the PS3. I then do this but when i turn it back on it tries to install the update again and fails. This happens every time.  So I called up Sony and told them my problem.  They had me try and boot it in safe mode but it didn't work. They then told me I would have to send it in at the cost of $139.  My question to Sony is why should I have to pay to have my PS3 serviced when your mandatory update screwed it up? I know it is out of warranty but if you hadn't sent out that update it would still be working. I don't see how your update crippling my system is any different then if you came into my home and smashed my PS3 with a baseball bat.  Now you are probably wondering what the title of this past has to do with anything I just mentioned.  It is because I had almost the same thing happen to my Wii a few months ago. However when I talked to them they said we are sorry and told me they would repair my Wii at no cost to me and they would warranty it for a year even though it was out of warranty. I have to say thank you Nintendo for treating your customers right.  I want to now ask my readers if they think I have a good small claims case against Sony. The initial fee to sue them would be $30 and I would probably sue for the cost of the PS3 plus any other legitimate damages I can add on. Let me know what you think.

Comic Con 2011 Final Day

So today I woke up bright and early to get into line for Hall H the largest panel room at Comic-Con. I went only to see the Doctor Who panel but ended up seeing Glee and Supernatural. The Glee panel did nothing to convince me to come back to watching their show however the Supernatural panel was quite a riot and even though I didn't get most of the jokes I'm am seriously thinking about watching the show. The main event however today was seeing Karen Gillian and Matt Smith from Doctor Who. They were extremely kind and even signed a young boys Full Size Dalek which he had built. They also showed a clip of an episode written by Toby Whithouse for the second half of this season. I have to say it looks fantastic. Overall I had a great time at Comic-Con this year and I hope to be able to attend Comic-Con 2012.

A little rant.

Well it's been awhile since my last post but lets not dwell on that fact. Instead I want to look at the recently announced IPad from Apple. My first problem with the IPad consists with its Environment Requirements. First the operating temperature is between 32° to 95° F (0° to 35° C). This means no bringing your IPad to the Desert during the summer or any place where it is snowing. Secondly it has a max altitude rating of 1o,000 ft. I want to be able to use my electronic devices if the pressure in the airplane goes away. Also how am I going to write my notes down when I hike up Mt. Everest? Honestly these Environmental requirements are a serious hindering on the device. My next problem is the 10hr battery life. Come on really only 10hrs? My laptop can go for seven and you can only give me 10hrs? What if after my flight to Tokyo which Steve Jobs used as an example I have to immediately turn around and fly back? Guess I won't be won't be using my IPad on the return trip. However my biggest complaint is the fact that once again Apple partners with AT&T. Seriously the $30 unlimited data plan is going to cripple AT&T's network if enough people purchase the IPad. They are already having problems with 5% of theirs users taking up most of the Data usage on their network. I was deeply dissappointed that Apple did not announce they would be ending their deal with AT&T and allowing other Carriers to offer the IPhone. The IPhone is a great device. However when paired with AT&T it is just a very expensive Paperweight that rings(Occasionally if you can get a signal). Well I've ranted enough.

On another note I am designing a new site for my blog hopefully I will be able to transition this blog to it. Till next time have a great day.

New Desktop Computer HP a6857c

So I just recently purchased a Desktop Computer to replace some of the duties which my laptop was currently handling such as word processing. The new computer I purchased is an HP a6857c. So far I am loving it. The processor is an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz. Has 8 GB of ram and utilizes the 64-bit version of Vista Home Premium. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Vista but I am quite surprised out how nice it has been. Other than a few compatibility issues with some older devices I own I have no complaints. The greatest aspect of my computer though has to be the HP w2339h monitor. 23" display in full 1080p with VGI and HDMI inputs and built in speakers. It is a beautiful sight. Another plus with this HP desktop is the chassis which has plenty of room for extra goodies like maybe a Blue ray disc player and writer or another hard drive with a 1 TB of storage? Who knows only time will tell. I do plan on making this an awesome computer. Oh and the price was about $939.99 which includes tax so was a pretty good deal. Plus I've had very little problems with HP's technical support. It helps being able to understand Indian accents but I'm pretty good at it. Yeah so basically I love my computer and if you don't hear from me for a long time it is most likely I'm behind it enjoying it's soft glow upon my face.

Death Star Destroys Enterprise (HD)

This had me laughing over and over. I'm still laughing every time I replay it.
